 Guarantee perfect function long-term
To ensure that your doors function perfectly long-term, it is important to select the correct hinge systems and hinge types.
Familiar but out-dated
The standard formula for selecting hinges:
Loading = weight of door
This handy formula is unfortunately out-dated because various factors can make the actual loading of the hinge several times higher.
Criteria for the correct choice of hinge
To avoid later damage, you should bear the following in mind:
- place of use
(e.g. home, public building, administration, barracks, school, kindergarten, etc.)
- construction and type of material of the door element
- frequency of opening
- dimensions of door
- weight of door
- arrangement of hinges
- door stop
- door spring
Special requirements
Fire-stop doors, smoke-stop doors and sound-proofed doors as well as multifunctional elements are subject to special controls, during which the hinges are also tested.
We offer hinges which are especially co-ordinated for these purposes; please see the HUGA price-list.
In the HUGA planning manual you will find further details, models and all relevant specialist terminology for hinges and hinge mortises.
