Fact and fiction

Retractable floor seals are installed for technical sound-proofing or smoke-proofing reasons.

They are often a component of the registration of multi-functional, fire-stop, smoke-stop or sound-proof doors.

Important

In these instances installation may only be undertaken by the door manufacturer. This provision is not always necessary with fire-stop elements.
