Door solutions for people suffering from dementia

Elderly people in rest homes are often afflicted with dementia in its various types and severities. Their physical condition however is mostly discribed as healthy and fit. These residents cannot be accompanied or guarded by a nursing staff all the time. For this reason, several designers developed different systems that help tracing a person wherever she is. It is possible to prevent old people from leaving the home accidentally and also to make them enter only certain rooms.

RFID or wireless systems aim at doors as one of numerous examples.

Working together closely with the system planners HUGA provides doors with all details necessary for the above mentioned purpose, e.g. special looks, door handles, striking plates, cable ducts, cable transitions, sensors etc.

Differentiated creation

Not only for persons suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease it is very helpful to recognize things and places. It is especially recommended that doors leading into the residents' rooms should have different paintings and patterns.

To achieve this aim HUGA offers to the constructors a large variety of doors for all purposes. Nearly each colour, many types of wood, decors and designs of our enormous HUGA program for apartement doors can also be realised with our HUGA functional doors, e.g. smoke, fire, sound isolated and intruder resistant doors.
