Barrier-free

Daily residential homes for the elderly

Very much alike a retirement home this daily accommodation takes care of elderly mentally deranged persons or those who suffer from dementia. During the nights however, they are at their own apartements or houses.

Assisted accommodation

In these very specific institutions old people live with the assistance of therapists and geriatric nurses trying to make life as normal as possible for them. All the help required is granted, but the utmost autonomy of the old person is always kept in mind.

Rest homes

In these places the old person still lives a self-determined life with only little help from the staff, e.g. doing the cooking, cleaning, carrying heavy things. The residents don't do their own housekeeping anymore.

Geriatric homes for the elderly

In these institutions you find old people often in a very bad state of health and in need of permanent treatment and help. These residents suffer mostly from chronic diseases or are mentally or bodily very heavily handicapped.

Quite often the homes are simultaneously rest home for the elderly and geriatric places. Nevertheless there are also homes for younger disabled persons or invalids.

Other homes

In regard to a life without barriers we firstly quote all forms of assisted accommodations. Mentally deranged people, disabled or juvenile persons are accompanied by social workers, psychologists and teachers. Normally they need no medical treatment but permanent care.

Homes for the blind also need very specific equipment without barriers.

Private accommodations

Most of the disabled people and even elderly persons live in their own apartements or houses as long as possible. Especially considering this matter there are many companies that build barrier-free right from the beginning, either in regard to provident provision for one's old age or good letting.
